Description

The Trichocereus HBG series are gamma irradiated Trichocereus cacti. HBG1 – HBG6 are open pollinated HB07 seedlings. HBG7 is a gamma irradiated Huarimayo (Trichocereus peruvianus) seedling. See our blog post to read more here.

Trichocereus HB07 is a Herbalistics selection from a batch of Trichocereus bridgesii ‘Psycho0’ x ‘Super Pedro’ seedlings, which is a lovely blue and lightly spined clone which displays melted/semi-monstrose growth at times).

Open pollinated seedlings were gamma irradiated at 20Gy and grown out until large enough to multiply.

Care and Cultivation of Trichocereus ‘HBG1-HBG7’

Keep Trichocereus in part-shade until large enough to deal with full-sun, which will depend on the increasing exposure you give the cactus. Once established, Trichocereus species can be watered most of the year in all climates, although they will cease to grow or slow right down over winter in colder areas. Fertilise regularly with fish emulsion/seaweed at half strength over the growing season.

1 cactus cutting (mid cut or tip depending on availability) approx. 100-150mm length)
