Description

Sterculia quadrifida is a native Australian species up to 20m tall, occurring mostly in or near rainforest along the coast of NSW, QLD and NT.

The seeds are edible either raw or roasted and have a taste that is very close to fresh macadamia or peanut (some trees have better tasting nuts than others). The seeds may even be better roasted than raw. Can also be trained as a succulent bonsai due to the large tuber it develops from an early age.

Care and Cultivation of Sterculia quadrifida

Plant Sterculia quadrifida seeds just under the surface (1cm) of a well drained seed raising mix in full sun. Keep moist until germination. A drought tolerant, beautiful and hardy species suitable for most gardens.

5 seeds per packet
