SKU: N/A Category:

Trichocereus pachanoi is a South American cactus species used traditionally for divining purposes. Named after Professor Aberlardo Pachano who travelled with Dr. Rose, the original western collector, in 1918 (Trout, 2005). An upright species to 6 metres tall. Also an excellent grafting stock.

Huari is a charming and cozy village, 41km from the village of Chavin de Huntar. A place of wonderful natural scenery, the Huari variety differs a little from the other peruvianus as some individuals have reduced spines.

Care and Cultivation of Trichocereus peruvianus ‘Huari’

Keep Trichocereus peruvianus in part-shade until large enough to deal with full-sun, which will depend on the increasing exposure you give the cactus. Once established, Trichocereus species can be watered most of the year in all climates, although they will cease to grow or slow right down over winter in colder areas. Fertilise regularly with fish emulsion/seaweed at half strength over the growing season. Osmocote is also useful.

1 cactus seedling (80-150mm tall)
