Trichocereus bridgesii is a South American columnar cactus species from Bolivia (La Paz). The monstrose cultivar is a mutation which results in short segmented growth that can only be propagated by vegetative means. Commonly named for its curious resemblance to a penis. Often highly regarded traditionally as a sacramental medicine. Colloquially known by its acronym, TBM.

Care and Cultivation of Trichocereus bridgesii ‘monstrose’

Trichocereus bridgesii monstrose likes a full sun position with well drained sandy soil. Fertilise regularly over the warmer months. Generally slow growing, each plant can grow between 1-6 segments per season. Keep a bit on the dry side over the cold months of the year.

    Well-rooted chunks of at LEAST one segment of the coolest looking cactus around. Each one was unique!

    4 amazingly beautiful pups about 3-5cm long. I’ll try not to sunburn these one because their colour is so deep vibrant green.
    Delivery arrived way before I expected it to.
    Also got some nice loph and bridgesii seeds
