Description
Several species and varieties of Psychotria (Chacruna) are used in the healing Amazonian brew Ayahuasca.
Psychotria cv. Nexus and DW02 are interspecific hybrids of Psychotria carthagenensis and Psychotria viridis bred by Darren @ Herbalistics. Psychotria cv. ‘DW03’ and ‘DW08’ are hybrids between Nexus and P. viridis ‘Shipibo’. Psychotria cv. ‘DW05’, Psychotria cv. ‘DW06’ and Psychotria cv. ‘DW10’ are hybrids between Nexus and P. viridis ‘UDV’. We also offer Psychotria viridis ‘Shipibo’, ‘UDV’, ‘Brazil’ and Psychotria carthagenensis for making leaf cuttings.
Care and Cultivation of Psychotria
Psychotria prefers a part to full shade, moist, well-drained site and a rich loam soil with adequate fertiliser. A rainforest understorey plant that likes a slightly acidic soil rich in organic material. Keep well watered.
