Description

Psychotria horizontalis is native to Central and South America. A small shrub from 1-2m. Reported as being used in Ayahuasca teas.

The plant we grow could be Psychotria marginata as occasionally we received plants where the ID is incorrect and it can take a while to work out which species it actually is.

Care and Cultivation of Psychotria horizontalis

Psychotria horizontalis prefers a part shade, moist, well-drained position in the garden and a rich loam soil with adequate fertiliser. Psychotria horizontalis has performed well in our subtropical climatic extremes experienced here in SE QLD, ranging from low to high humidity, temperatures from 0-43°C over the year. It will have minimal frost tolerance and is about as drought tolerant as the parents, please share your cultivation experiences with us by posting a review.
