Passiflora herbertiana is an Australian native passionfruit species with beautiful flowers typical of the Passiflora genus. One of only 3-4 native species. Reports vary as to edibility, either way they have a strong, unusual smell! One site states the fruit are delicious, others that they possibly contain cyanogenic glycosides. Variation in the species is likely to be large.

Care and Cultivation of Passiflora herbertiana
Soak or scarify Passiflora herbertiana seeds overnight in warm water. Sow just below surface of seed raising mix and keep warm. Germinates between 2-8 weeks. Likes full sun to part shade. Needs a trellis, fence or tree to climb over.
