Description

Mentha satureioides is a creeping groundcover forming a mat and rooting at nodes; it is native to QLD, NSW, VIC and SA. Lassak and McCarthy in Australian Medicinal Plants note Mentha satureioides contains more menthol than English pennyroyal and that its essential oil composition lies midway between English peppermint and pennyroyal.

Care and Cultivation of Mentha satureioides

Sow Mentha satureioides seed just under surface of a good seed raising mix and keep in part shade to full sun until germination in 7-21 days.

Mentha satureioides likes a full sun to part shade position with adequate moisture. Easy to care for, prune and fertilise regularly for best results. Creeping groundcover to 20-30cm tall.
