Description

This vine comes from a large genus (450-500 species), many of which are used medicinally. Many species also contain Lysergic Acid Amides which are hallucinogenic compounds. Many are also poisonous and purgative. Ipomoea plebeia is native to SE Qld and usually occurs as a scrambling vine in disturbed areas.

Care and Cultivation of Ipomoea plebeia

Sow Ipomoea plebeia seed in good quality seed raising mix in spring/summer. Nick seeds to speed germination. Tolerant of shade or sun. Planting seeds directly into the garden will avoid any transplant shock.
