Description

Trichocereus are South American cacti with many being used traditionally for divining purposes. Hybridisation occurs readily as individuals do not or very rarely self-pollinate. An upright species to 6 metres tall.

The HB06 clone is a Herbalistics selection from a batch of Trichocereus bridgesii seedlings we grew in the mid 2000’s. A slender, attractive and hardy clone. Spination is fine in actively growing tips, forms a number of columns that will tend to become serpentine with age. Typical disease resistance of T. bridgesii in the humid subtropics.

Care and Cultivation of Trichocereus HB06

Keep in part-shade until large enough to deal with full-sun, which will depend on the increasing exposure you give the cactus. Once established, Trichocereus species can be watered most of the year in all climates, although they will cease to grow or slow right down over winter in colder areas. Fertilise regularly with fish emulsion/seaweed at half strength over the growing season.

1 cutting (100mm length, mid or tip depending on availability, these are spotty)
