The Tomatillo (Physalis ixocarpa) is a member of the Solanaceae family, related to tomatoes, bearing small, spherical and green or green-purple fruit of the same name. Tomatillos, referred to as green tomato (Spanish: tomate verde) in Mexico, are a staple in Mexican cuisine.

Care and Cultivation Seed can be sown most times of the year except winter. Either sow directly or in a pot. Lightly cover with soil and keep moist until they begin to germinate. Annual, from 60-90cm tall and 30-45cm in width.

    Quick germination, even in cold weather (though obviously warmer weather would result in faster germination). My seedlings are looking very healthy, and I can’t wait till they get big! 🙂
