Description

Carpobrotus glaucescens is a creeping succulent with showy purple flowers followed by edible pink/purple fruit which tastes like a salty plum. Found along the Australian coastline where it prefers dunes and is an excellent stabiliser.

Care and Cultivation of Carpobrotus glaucescens

Sow Carpobrotus glaucescens seed on the surface of a good quality seed raising mix. Be careful not to wash seeds out when watering in. Transplant once seedlings begin crowding each other. Drought hardy, attractive groundcover.
